HPPSC conducted HPAS  2015 Prelims on 5th June, 2016 at the various Centres in Himachal Pradesh.

This year HPAS 2015 Prelims Exam was Little Difficult than the previous Year as there were less factual questions like every year. Overall the Exam was moderate, But due to lesser Number of seats and some direct questions Cut off may increase this year.

Analysis :
Questions were asked form various sections But this year some sections that dominated most are Himachal GK, Environment & Biodiversity, Current Affairs etc. HPPSC Shifted the trend this year form Static to Current Affairs to a huge extent, usually they used to ask 4-5 Current Affairs but this year they asked 20 questions mainly Govt schemes and socio economic. Science section saw a huge dip just 2 or 3 questions while Environment & Biodiversity were really tricky. Here is the distribution of Questions section wise:

Himachal GK / HP GK was tough this year as most of the questions were from Himachal History, History, Environment & Biodiversity, Economic & Socio Section were tough and tricky, Polity and Geography were Easy Sections, current affairs was moderate.

Possible Attempts : 55-65

Good Score : 80-100

If we see the level of this paper it wasn't a cakewalk because most questions were tricky, So around 90 marks in this exam is very good Score. Overall this Paper was moderate.

Paper 2 : General Aptitude Test

 English (Comprehension, blanks)

  15

 Total Questions
  100

Analysis :
This paper was also moderate. It consisted Reasoning, Mental ability, Maths, Behavioral Psychology, Decision making, Interpersonal skills and English.
Logical Reasoning was easy while Maths Part was moderate. English section was easy this time, but the toughest section for most of the aspirants was Behavioral Psychology, HPPSC went one step ahead this year as they also included Decision making, Interpersonal skills and this overall section went form 20 question to 30 questions. problem with these question is that all the option seems possible answer so its never easy to answer them.

Possible Attempts : 60-80

Good Score : 100-110

This paper will decide the fate of aspirants because GS paper was tough one and most of the candidate will be getting around 100 marks in GS, So Aptitude will play a decisive role. In Aptitude Test apart form Psychology,
Decision making and Interpersonal skills questions most parts were easy so this paper will become A Game Changer. But Accuracy will matter in all the attempted Questions.

Overall Good Score : 190-210

Predicted HPAS 2015 Prelims Cut off Score will be between: 185-200 for General Category.

I am adding a Poll where You can Share your Score but make sure you share exact scores because you won't be able to change it after polling it. Yup bro the status quo has Durand line as pak-afghan border but as per official maps of govt of India we have a small border with afganistan(wakhan corridor)which is currently a part of Gilgit baltistan under pakistans control. So I'm really confused on dis one. Indian govt has an official stand which delegitimises POK. What's ur guess??

  30. Mr.in infernoz ,only election commission has right to declare boundaries for constituency .Go through polity by lakshmikanth, you will come to know.Don't tell us wrong information.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Q 1. There are 543 Parliamentary constituencies in India each electing one member. Who demarcates the boundaries of these constituencies?

    Ans. Delimitation Commission

Under Article 82 of the Constitution, the Parliament by law enacts a Delimitation Act after every census. After coming into force commencement of the Act, the Central Government constitutes a Delimitation Commission. This Delimitation Commission demarcates the boundaries of the Parliamentary Constituencies as per provisions of the Delimitation Act. The present delimitation of constituencies has been done on the basis of 2001 census figures under the provisions of Delimitation Act, 2002. Notwithstanding the above, the Constitution of India was specifically amended in 2002 not to have delimitation of constituencies till the first census after 2026. Thus, the present Constituencies carved out on the basis of 2001 census shall continue to be in operation till the first census after 2026..

  35. Just go through what the words says, not on whole line.It says who determine not demarcated.and ashish Bose related to demographic transition, not BIMARU States.let's wait for official answer key.

    ReplyDelete
  36. can you suggest cut off for reserved category also. Last year and this year.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. BIMARU is an acronym formed from the first letters of the names of the states. It was coined by Ashish Bose in the mid-1980s. BIMARU has a resemblance to a Hindi word "Bimar" which means sick. This was used to refer to the poor economic conditions within those states. Several studies, including those by the UN, showed that the performance of the BIMARU states were dragging down the GDP growth rate of India. Some of these states are also a part of Red Corridor. Since some of these states have now started to advance faster than some of the developed states, the concept of BIMARU is starting to become outdated.[1][2][3]...............# Mr. Sharma please go through it.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Ashish Bose was a prominent Indian demographer and economic analyst. He was Honorary Professor at the Institute of Economic Growth in Delhi, where he headed the Population Research Centre for several years.u are also true he is known for bimaru States .But he was related to demography earlier. Both can be answer.

    1. History is Good optional but lengthy syllabus. Also in comparison to other subjects slightly less scoring. But if someone have command in history then should go for it surely.

    3. Hi
I have opted for the same combination . And here is what I found so far :
      1) History syllabus is definitely vast but much less as compared to UPSC . For e.g. World history is less than 10% of UPSC syllabus .
      2) Questions in past 2 years have never come out of syllabus prescribed . So you can stick to the syllabus .
      3) It would help if you can get class notes of some delhi institute . They have outlined everything succinctly . Select the topics from these according to the HPAS syllabus . Unlike other optionals , there is not much technicality involved with history . So, you can understand well even from class notes . Make this your base material . Then supplement it with selected reading from standard books .

In short , if u stick to the syllabus and use the class notes of some good coaching well , u may just find this optional much more manageable than even geography ( my other optional ) as i am finding right now .

one word of caution : if u don't like history so much , don't go for it . It becomes really boring for people not interested in it . Its only interest that will carry you through .

      hope it helps .

    1. Wait for official answer keys, because official answer keys are what matter not Coaching institute keys. People who are claiming 220 + will be reduced to 200 and those claiming 200 will be getting 185 so Just chill and wait for the official answer keys guys.

  89. bro the status quo has Durand line as pak-afghan border but as per official maps of govt of India we have a small border with afganistan(wakhan corridor)which is currently a part of Gilgit baltistan under pakistans control. So I'm really confused on dis one. Indian govt has an official stand which delegitimises POK. What's ur guess??
