[HP Allied Exam Review] HPPSC Himachal Pradesh Subordinate Allied Services Prelims Exam 2017 Review Held on 29th April 2018

HPPSC conducted Himachal Pradesh Subordinate Allied Services Prelims Exam 2017 on 29th April, 2018 at the various Centers in Himachal Pradesh. Exam was conducted for Total 86 Posts of various departments.

This year HP Allied Exam Prelims was of moderate level. There were Total 200 Question. Most of
the Questions were factual, complete Science section was out of syllabus while current affairs was lesser than mentioned in the syllabus.

Distribution of Questions Section Wise :

1.	Himachal GK and Current Affairs	60	Easy to Moderate, Factual included Current as well. Scoring Section.
2.	Current Affairs (National & International)	30	Easy section, easily covered from Newspapers, magazines or Daily AIR radio News
3.	Modern History	10	Easy, very much scoring
4.	Indian Polity	10	Easy one, scoring
5.	Geography + Environment & Biodiversity	10	Moderate Level but highly factual section. Environment & Biodiversity related questions were missing
6.	Socio-Economic Development	10	Again factual but moderate level
7.	Science & Technology	30	Surprise Package because number of questions gone up (04) from last year to (30) this year, factual section but moderate section. Make or break section for many aspirants.
8.	Indian Culture	10	Easy one, scoring
9.	Disaster Management	10	Factual, Moderate level. Answer Key can bring surprises
10.	Teachings of Gandhi	10	HPPSC’s Gandhi Prem Increasing with every exam asked 10 questions but most of them were very easy, even these questions get repeated now, My Suggestion to HPPSC : Instead of Only Gandhi ask Questions about All Freedom Fighters, at least everyone will know more about other freedom fighters and their contributions. Gandhi ke Uppar repeated question se Junta bore ho gyi hai.
11.	Misc.	10	Kuch bhi Chlta hai iss section me.

Possible Cut off Scenario:

Its not possible to predict the Accurate Cut off for this exam as Number of  Posts are more compared to the last year, Nature and level of exam was Moderate. Although Negative Marking will definitely make impact on the cut off this year so Cull off will likely to fall by 10-12 Marks (+/- 5 Marks) in comparison to last year in each category.

Reasons for Decrease in Cut offs :

1. More Posts than Last year although the number of Posts in Unreserved Section is almost same.
2. Introduction of Negative marking in Allied Services exam from this year. Negative marking makes a common impression in the minds of aspirants that you don't have to go for everything, and more factual questions restricts to go wildly. Naturally the Number of attempts decreases.

(I think within a week's time commission will release the answer keys and then if you will have doubts on any questions and answers you can submit authentic proof to them.)
