    Previous year 1345 candidates have written main examination and seats were too less as compared to this year still only 645 candidates qualified for mains. Highly disappointed.

    i was getting 100 as per official ans key ( general category ),,,,,i have claimed 3 questions ,,,,coral reefs,,, bihar have highest poverty ratio not odisha,,,HDI ,,,,,if these 3 ques were recorrected by hppsc then i wud have surely got 6 marks and extra 2 marks ( which were deducted as negative ) ,,,,
    FINALLY I AM IN FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME ,,,,TILL NOW CSAT WAS A HURDLE FOR ME BUT AS IT WAS QUALIFYING HIS TIME,,,IT TURNED OUT A BOON FOR ME,,,,

    Kuch logon ki CSAT hatne se lanka doob gayi, kuch ke maje aa gye.
    Anyway, people who could not clear this exam despite studying so very hard, don't blame it entirely on yourself. This years paper was a shithole. Do remember to prepare Clerical and other such exam's material next time.

      I had appeared for the interview last year of HAS, and this year cleared UPSC prelims too, but in HAS prelims I got around 90! utterly disgusted! I know people who were banking exams (no specific HAS prep!), scored over 100 in HAS exam this year.
      I don't understand the mentality of paper setters, don't they have a standard of questions that should be asked in each exam. They gotta know that people recruited from this exam with promotion get to become IAS, IPS. No wonder there is huge divide between the direct recruits and the 'promotees'. There is a reason why the former behave condescendingly with the latter. And key positions almost always go to the direct recruits, except if you have any 'connections' with the political bosses. It is the responsibility of the HPPSC to bridge that divide rather than wedging it even further.

      You didn't got the marks doesn't mean the process is not fair. Prepare for IAS mains exam and utilize your energy there rather than just wasting in bragging here. Clear IAS and change the pattern in Himachal, simple. Change your mentality before changing the mentality of examiners. It will reflect in your personality and in the examination process. Every exam has its own nature and you have to understand it for clearing it. All the very best for your IAS mains.

    Please know the things which you are expected to know , there are no specific clerical upsc or state civil services questions. Self introspect , work on your weaknesses prepare conventional subjects and current affairs well and solve lot of mcqs that will help u in your next year prelims. U may ask any other question here i am here to help u .

    U were expecting 105,still didn't qualify ,It has various reasons
    1) You counted wrong marks(negative marking)
    2) you used gel pen to fill omr sheet
    3) you by mistake filled wrong circles
    4) multiple circles filled by you.

      The same happened with me in IAS exam. I was getting 110+ with all the keys available in the market and was confident of clearing it. I had started mains preparation too. But the result shattered me. But whom to blame, no one but myslelf. May be I have marked wrong bubbles or may be I inflated score by counting doubtful answer too as the keys were not too certain. Like in ur case, three doubtful questions wrong and the game is over (probably cut off 97-98). What next then? Prepare hard for the next time so that you are not in the zone again rather than just having gut feeling continuously. All the best.

    I think the cut off dor hpas should be around 101-102. Those who have counted 98 must have scored around 101-102 and those who have score 104 and still not cleared then check revised answer key. You are definately falling below the mark.
    Now looking at hpas cut off will be around 51 percent. And paper was easy . Now 51 percent of NT exam is 61.2 which is somewhat tougher than hpas though few questions were easy. Less number of outsiders applying for NT , 1/4 negative marking and also the lesser number of seats makes the cut off interesting. Though i still feel above 64 is safe. 61 to 64 is where the cutoff may lie.

    For prelims one has to aim for 110+ at least if he/ she belongs to general category so that the person can study peacefully for mains.
    Already three months have passes by and this makes a lot of difference, there were some people( like me) who were in a dilemma whether they will clear or not, now some have cleared and some( including me) have not.

    People who have utilized their time from june- Sep preparing for mains will be at an advantage to those who were waiting for the result....so friends study hard for each and every step beforehand,..... I know that even if I would have cleared prelims I would not have been able to clear the mains, because I was just waiting for the result for so long just to end in a disappointment.

    Friends who have cleared all the best to u, do well, and those who didn't clear don't worry next year will be ours.

    guys I am pretty sure that next year there will be more vacancies, as they are expanding the HAS cadre strength by 22. So some of these will surely translate to increase in direct recruitments. I was worried that these would be increased this year itself, but does not look like so.
    So there is something to cheer about for all those who could not clear this year.

    just came to know that some selected candidates of HPAS exam of last year couldnt qualify even pre his time.CSAT and zoology,geology rkhke they got selected.And our favourite Mr.Tehsildar(FARZI) had filled form from general category this year and as expected he got failed

    Ok guys I have one query although its tooo late but still please clarify.

    Is baar hpas Ke prelims Mein roll number ke boxes Mein ek box extra tha..so how had u filled the roll number??.

    In my center the invigilator told to fill from the first box..but then she said that it would have been better if it is filled from the second box..so that there is no problem((( I hope u guys get what I am saying))).

    Uska kya koi problem hui hogi???? Or they evaluated the sheets both ways?????

      OMR sheet ka format ek baar hi set kar diya hai inhone,,,,,,usse koi fark ni padta,,,,,humari class me nhi sab alag alag fill kar rhe they,,,,,koi starting me empty chhod rha tha to koi last me,,,,,,,common now dont think to that level,,,uska koi fark n padt HAI BHAI,,,,,,maine starting me empty rkha tha aur mere friend ne last me,,,,we both r qualified for mains,,,dont wory ,,,,,

      Ha ha ha....just retrospect....how serious u r in life.....why paper 4 is set by upsc.....so that what is stated has to be read in letter and spirit....your one mistake of not reading will be dangerous in many ways just think.....u can creat accident if u don't read the last to first line...where u will make mistake....be serious in life.....administrative services r a responsible post....paper 4 teaches what I have done....the higher u grow and what post u r dealing with ....in decision making u would fail....there no empathy for such mistake....and I belong to same community....no regrets..I know it's hard to digest but it was my duty....friends and responsible person can only teach u ...not outsider....

    Hi Dear friends!now every successful one will be preparing for mains n others are relying on NT result to be out in Dec.I myself with 62(OBC) pinning high hopes on NT.People! It is very very useful blog run by our dear Khadubhai n it is requested to maintain decent language n healthy n fiery discussion sometimes triggered by genius Khadu Sir.Then it seems very interesting n attracts more people to hit this blog.Guys don't hide when there is not any notifications by commission,so be there.Thanks everyone for their valuable feedback to predict cut off n even layman can do it after reading from this blog.Best of luck for forthcoming exams.Though entire hill state is best bt Shimla,Hamirpur n Kullu are true heavens.

    You can fill the name of your trusted neighbors or friends in the 17th column , of course with their prior consent. I have filled the name of my father's colleague and his friend. My form was accepted without any problem.

      I have done self-attestation. In admit card of Prelims, they clearly mentioned that the photograph is to be attested by a Gazetted Officer. But in the instructions for Mains, it is only 'Attested copies'.

      Ek affidavit bnana h and obc ka certificate latest hona chahiye means it should be valid till the date of viva voce and you have to carry both these documents with you in mains exam.
