[Exam Analysis] HPAS 2017 Prelims Exam Analysis Conducted on 24th June, 2018

HPPSC conducted HPAS  2017 Prelims on 24th June, 2018 at the various Centres in Himachal Pradesh. 

HPAS 2017 Prelims Exam was somewhat difficult to Previous Year. A huge number of Factual questions dominated this year. Overall the Exam was moderate. Section Wise this year question paper was not very balanced and didn't follow the pattern to in comparison
to previous years.

                                    

HPPSC is loosing the Quality of Questions Every year, they are focusing more to Fact based questions rather than Knowledge and Analytical based Question that require reasoning and depth to answer the questions.

Although HPPSC is admirable for very quick release of Answer Keys in within hours after that exam.

Note : Some Sections may Overlap Like Current, Socio-economic & Misc etc.  

Analysis : Questions were asked form various sections this year although the distributed was not uniform. Himachal GK and current affair was quite easy. Polity, History, Geography were moderate to difficult level and too factual, most of these geography questions were tricky. Environment and Science were easier sections while Socio-Economic questions were moderate level. 

Possible Attempts : 65-70

Good Score : Above 95

Analysis : This paper was moderate. It consisted Reasoning, Mental ability, Maths, Behavioral Psychology, Decision making, Interpersonal skills and English.

Reasoning and Maths Parts were moderate but time consuming. English section was easy this time. Behavioral Psychology, Decision making, & Interpersonal skills were difficult and ambiguous like previous year. Problem with these question is that all the option seems possible answer so its never easy to answer them. Overall it was moderate to difficult, many of the good scorers in GS will be out or on the verge of elimination. It will definitely impact GS cut off this year.
 
Possible Attempts : 60-70

Good Score : Above 85

This paper is Just Qualifying and you Just need 66 Marks to Pass Paper 2 that means you just have to do 33 Question correctly. I think that's not a very difficult job for those who are preparing seriously but surprises may be seen when the result will be out.

Predicted HPAS 2017 Prelims Cut off Score will be between: 

General Category : 85-90 ( +/- 5 ) 
OBC : Above 75
SC : 60-65
ST : Above 57 


Note : Cut off is based on certain parameters, although no one can exactly predict the Cut off these exams. Aim of these predictions is to make serious candidates aware of the chances for the mains so that they can have a idea about the possibility of qualification and can begin as early as possible.
