This Post deals with HPPSC Naib Tehsildar (NT)/CDPO-TWO Exam. This Post has 2 Parts. This is 1st Part.
Part 1 : HPPSC NT/CDPO-TWO Prelims Exam (Current Post)
Part 2 : HPPSC NT/CDPO-TWO Prelims Mains Exam
Syllabus for the Screening Test (Prelims) of Naib Tehsildar (NT)/CDPO-TWO Exam:
Paper of two hours duration consisting of 120 marks (General Knowledge) (Objective type)
In NT/CDPO-TWO Exams, HPPSC ask Very Very Difficult Questions, Many times tougher than
HPAS/HAS, In HPAS they ask simple and easy questions but in this exam question come tricky and difficult one. Those aspirants who appear for the first time for this exam feels questions totally alien and cut off each year comes down to 55-60% of 120. HPPSC sets this paper so tough to filter out the non serious candidates.
So In my opinion you have to read a lot and in depth and still you can't say that you definitely will make to next stage but if you will read more and more and prepare current affair well, then you will always have chance to qualify. Luck also plays a part in this exam because if you attempt 40-50 % questions correctly and then you can also do some guess work as there is no provision of negative marking in this exam. But it doesn't work for all it only work for those who work hard. In this article I will try to Guide to you how to approach this paper, which books to follow and previous year papers.
(a) History, Geography and Socio-Economic development of Himachal Pradesh. =30 Marks
Detail : In this Section Questions related to Himachal General Knowledge Will be asked related to History, Culture, Political History, Geography, Socio-Economic development and Current affair of Himachal Pradesh. But don't expect easy questions, there will be hardly few easy questions, rest will be really hard. So you will need to read authentic books and more than one book. In previous years there were questions which were not even in Good books, so you have to study from multiple resources.
For this section you need to have One or two books of Himachal GK so that you can score in this section, this is a scoring section so it is important to prepare this section quite well. I will mention following books to cover this section:
1. The Wonderland Himachal Book - Jag Mohan Bhalokhra Or Himachal Pradesh: History, Culture and Economy - Mian Govardhan Singh
2. A book of Objective Questions "Himachal Darpan Samanya Gyan By Aaksah Publisher (Aakash Entrance Series)" this book is quite useful and contains a lot of questions. A must have book.

NCERT/NIOS/ICSE Books (6th to 12th of History, Polity, Geography, Economy) are very important if you have then well and good but if you don't have then these reference books will fulfill the purpose. But if you think you will cross this hurdle by reading less and less books then I must say you are wrong. The reason is Naib Tehsildar Exam is Toughest exam by HPPSC. 10 Times tougher than HPAS. They really put hard questions that need deep study of the all topics and ask very minute details that makes this exam very very tough to crack. So I suggest to read some very good and 2 sources on each topic at least.
