[Exam Analysis] HPAS 2014 Prelims Exam Analysis Conducted on 7th June, 2015

HPPSC conducted HPAS  2014 Prelims on 7th June, 2015 at the various Centres in Himachal Pradesh. Approximately 45000 Aspirants applied for the exam.

This year HPAS 2014 Prelims Exam was Easier than the previous Year as there were factual questions like every year. Overall the Exam was moderate, But due to lesser Number of seats and some direct questions Cut off may increase this year.

Paper 1 : General Studies 

Time : 2 Hours | Max Marks : 200 | Questions: 100

Analysis : Questions were asked form various sections But this year some sections that dominated most are Himachal GK, Science, Economic & Social Development etc. Here is the distribution of Questions section wise:

Himachal GK / HP GK was tough this year as most of the questions were from Himachal History, Science Section was Easy while Economic & Socio Section was tricky one, Polity and Environment & Biodiversity were Easy Sections, Geography was moderate, rest of questions were easy.

Possible Attempts : 60-70

Good Score : 90-110

If we see the level of this paper it wasn't a cakewalk because most questions were tricky, So around 100 marks in this exam is very good Score. Overall this Paper was moderate. 


 Paper 2 : General Aptitude Test

Time : 2 Hours | Max Marks : 200 | Questions: 100

Analysis : This paper was also moderate. It consisted Logical Reasoning, Mental ability, Maths, Behavioral Psychology and English.

Logical Reasoning was easy while Maths Part was Tricky, there existed few questions which seems easy in this section but they were not so easy. English section was easy this time, but the toughest and alien section for most of the aspirants was Behavioral Psychology, HPPSC continue to ask Out of Syllabus Behavioral Psychology questions this year too, As there is nowhere in the syllabus mentioned the Behavioral Psychology or related topics so aspirants have the option of moving to the High Court of Himachal Pradesh regarding these out of syllabus questions. Behavioral Psychology questions were tough nuts to crack for most of the aspirants as they have all the deprecating options to choose.
Possible Attempts : 70-85

Good Score : 105-130

This paper will decide the fate of aspirants because GS paper was tricky one. In Aptitude Test apart form psychology questions most parts were easy so this paper will become merit decider. A Game Changer...
Overall Good Score : 200-220

Predicted HPAS 2014 Prelims Cut off Score will be between: 200-215
