HPPSC Conducted HPAS 2016 Prelims on 25th June, 2017, and on 27th June they Released the Official Answer Keys.

      Vinegar and lemon themselves are acidic. To neutralize a strong acid (HCl) you need a strong base. Hence baking soda

      That's True. Exam is too much facts based, they are testing the mugging powers rather than analytical and conceptual approach. They need to make a balance and they are nowhere near the desired level. I too witnessed this drop over the years as they are clinging towards fact based approach. But HPPSC is like this, nothing can be done in this regard.

      Cold water corals are not a recent thing.. they've been know for more than 250 years and are spread over a large area.. But the question here specifically asked 'reefs'.. These cold water coral do from reefs but they cannot be called real reefs they are kind of mounds.. What we classify into reefs (Barrier, fringing and Attols) aren't seen in cold water corals.. what they form is just a mound of carbonates and not real reefs.

One who read balokhra marks write option ac to him as same done by one who read mian goverdan singh. Both are right , and I myself go through mian goverdhan book , it's good but not authentic .

    Hdi is right because it is gross national income (gni)per capita and not gdp per capita so by elimination technique life expectancy and morbidity are correct

      Leave all the newspapers apart.. Governments doesn't work as per news papers.. You are preparing for administrative services and relying on official government sources is first thing expected from you.. Check key highlights and budget speech on official website of GOI and you'll clearly find 1st of May 2018 written there. Just to cut down your workload a little, here is the link.

      243H question did not have right options and it will be scrapped.(Just wait for revised key)
      HDI question should be scrapped too as morbidity, infant mortality as well as Real GDP (Gross National Income (GNI) is considered not GDP as GNI is considered national income not GDP) are not taken in consideration while calculating HDI.

      Instead of saying balokhra is right and hppsc is wrong just see the images of Hatkoti temple and you will clearly see it's not at all pent roof (Pent roof is a simple single floor slanting roof whereas, main shrine of hatkoti temple is a double story conical style)

      I know brother sometimes life doesn't go the way we want it to go, even i got 4 out 6 questions above mentioned by you wrong, but instead of being reactionary we need to learn to be reasonable and object considering all options available rather than focusing on only those which suites our convenience.
      It's all part and parcel of life send your objections and proofs as HPPSC has asked for and instead of wasting your precious times on endless discussions start preparing for mains, trust me 2.5 months passes in a jiffy so utilise them to the fullest. No offences intended here. Thanks

      For the coral question-30N&S is the most apt answer.ques mein ye nahi likha that corals are found 'only' between so and so latitude.and if u say its none of the above u are negating the statement 'coral reefs are present b/w 30N&S'.so hppsc answer is fine in my opinion

      Whatever objections you have Do send to them along with documentary proof. They will consider it. Make sure you send them proper proof because they consider mainly books, standard newspapers and govt stats.

      Not more than 200 cut off at any cost, it was't easy GS paper and Aptitude was average but not that easy that one can do 80 questions easily.... this was khadubhai prediction last year.. and cut off was 198.. he was very much right..

    this year there is 19 unreserved seats that means approximately380 students.if we consider this case and went through the poll then it seems highly possibility that one who is getting 94+ should start prepparing for mains and stop asking again and again about 'possible cut off'.

      You have to send it the way they have asked. They have put a proforma in answer key pdf. So take a print out of that, fill the objectionable questions in that proforma and attach the proof in form of Hard copy by doing photostat or print outs. U can also attach multiple proof for single question. And then Send Via POST or Courier. No Emails or Fax will be accepted.

Krishna arrived at Bana's palace and broke his flagstaff. Recognising the signal, Bana attacked him. Krishna won the battle and was about to kill Bana when Shiva begged him to spare Bana's life. Krishna agreed on the condition that Bana apologised for his mistakes. Bana then asked Shiva, to forgive him.

    Banasur (Vanasur), who was the eldest son of Bali, the king of Daityas. During the mythical times, this place was called Shonitpur. Banasur had a son by the name of Skanda and a daughter called Usha, whose beauty knew no bounds.

    As the story in Puranas goes, Banasur is a powerful king and a great devotee of Shiva, and pleased with his devotion and singing and playing of drums (!), Lord Shiva grants him immense power and also bestows him with a thousand arms --- like the Sahasrarjun that was killed by the famous Parashu rama.

    Once Banasur is granted the boon of invincibility, he starts using his unlimited power on all and sundry. As usual, all men and devas are beaten by him, and are worried. Even inanimate objects like trees and moutains are not spared, which he uproots and crushes with his thousand arms in spare time.

    Soon he gets bored of this constant winning of battles and goes back to Shiva to ask him if there is anyone left worthy enough to fight with him - even hinting that maybe Lord Shiva (!) himself wants to fight. But Shiva gives him a flag (no, literally!), and asks him to hoist it near his fort. He tells Banasur that when this flagpost is broken on its own accord, Banasur will find his match.

    Time passes by. Banasur awaits the fall of the flagpost, and keeps his urge to fight under check. Of course, he continues to be the Asura he is, and this causes a lot of grief to his people. Enter his beautiful, beautiful daughter Usha in the story. Now the lady has grown to a marriagable age and dreams of a handsome young man as husband.

    One day, she dreams of a handsome young man and wakes up with a burning desire to be with this handsome young man. She confesses her heart's desire to Chitralekha, her friend and also the daughter of minister of Banasura. Chitralekha is a talented lady and recognizes this handsome young man from Usha's dream to be Aniruddha, prince of Dwarka, son of Parikshit Pradyumn (as suggested by a reader), grand-son of Lord Krishna. Chitralekha, through supernatural powers abducts the sleeping Aniruddha from the palace of Krishna in Dwaraka and brings him to Usha.

    When Aniruddha comes to his senses, he sees Usha, and both fall in love with each other instantly. They spend the next 4 months with each other, in great bliss, in Usha's palace - all the while trying to hide their secret from the other people. Their love story is given in great detail in the puranas, but of course that is meant for a different audience.

    After a while, when Banasur is taking his rounds around the city, he sees the flagpost given by Shiva to be broken. He immediately summons the people around him to find if any new unknown person has recently come to town. This is when a couple of sentries tell him about hearing a man's laughter from Usha's palace.

    Banasur immediately gathers his army and storms Usha's palace. Aniruddha rushes outside with a stone pillar in hand, and fights bravely with the entire army. However, his might is no match to Banasur, who finally overpowers him, ties him with a noose and throws him in a prison.

    There in Dwaraka, everyone including Krishna, Balarama and other Yadavas are going in a tizzy searching for their boy, when Narada muni comes to them during his trips around the world and tells Lord Krishna about Aniruddha being made captive of Banasur.

    The Yadavas gather an army under Balarama and march to Shonitpur, with Lord Krishna heading the column on his Garuda. In the battle that follows at the fort of Shonitpur (most likely in the plains surrounding the fort - and around the village of Karnakarayat of today), Banasur is finally overpowered by Krishna and attains nirvana. And that is where the matter lies.

    Of course, the fort seems to be a construction belonging to the middle ages, but the story of Vanasur was probably associated with the spot even before the construction of the fort.

      Bro there is no benefit of fighting over here. Jis jis Ko jo jo Objections hai Please send the documentary proof. HPPSC mai fools nhi baithe hain, they will consider the objections if found genuine but the thing is you have to send some standard resources. For example if Banasur question it is mentioned in both of the Puranas then we have to send proof of both and question will be scrapped. SO the thing is send whatever proof you guys have.

    -HDI morbidity means intensity of any disease in a nation and it is not an indicator of HDI
    -Bihar has 33% which is highest poverty ratio(not odisha)
    ONLY 2 questions are surely marked wrong by hppsc
    As per coral reefs are comcerened it is different in different refence books,,,some have 25 some have 30 ( per jo arihant ya lucent me hoga vahi shi karenge hppsc wale isse upar ki book ni utjate hain ye )
    Aur biodiesel wala bhi 50% clear nhin hai

      Ethanol is produced from plants with starch and high amount of carbs like corn, sugarcane, beet sugar, oat etc. Whereas Biodiesel is produced from vegetable oils, animal fats and greases. The question clearly asked biodiesel not biofuel so here soyabean is correct answer.

      FYI, I also marked sugarcane but learnt about this concept after committing the mistake.
