First of all I would like to say that this Paper is not going to be an Easy paper at all, this is going to be a Similar Exam like Naib tehsildar (NT/CDPO-TWO) Exam, Reason is that they have almost Same syllabus for these exams and level of difficulty will be of same level, they will ask difficult and alien questions that will test the depth of the candidates so one thing that matter is how vastly you going to prepare for this exam, They simply going to ask you very tough questions that's why you have to read some standard reference books because many of the questions will not come directly from Lucent / Here , Arihant,TMH manual. I am saying that nothing will come from these books but many (half) questions will come from different books as HPPSC like to test the depth of study and analysis.
How to Prepare for Screening Test/ Prelims:
In my opinion you have to read a lot and in depth and still you can't say that you definitely will make to next stage but if you will read more and more and prepare current affair well, then you will always have chance to qualify. Luck also plays a part in this exam because if you attempt 60% questions correctly and then you can also do some guess work as there is no provision of negative marking in this exam. But it doesn't work for all it only work for those who work hard. In this article I will try to Guide to you how to approach this paper, which books to follow and previous year papers.

Hi sir expected date of exam.any idea?
ReplyDeleteProbably in the month of October/November.
DeleteSir indian gk k ly ncert ki books best rhegi ya fir reference books jo aapne mention ki wo means which is most important
DeleteWhy to study ancient & medieval Indian History when syllabus mention Modern India from 1857 onwards? And from where to prepare general science?
ReplyDeleteBecause HPPSC have the habit of asking and surprising people with out of Syllabus of Questions, In HPAS Exam they every year ask questions out of syllabus, and when they say Modern History they sometimes do ask ancient or medieval or related questions with ancient times.. I am saying to study ancient or medieval history deeply, i am just saying that an overview of ancient or medieval history is must. Preparing for the next level never costs but less preparations always causes trouble, So why take any chances, Prepare everything relevant and do well.
DeleteFor Science section Either read the NCERT books form 8th to 12th (selected topics) or Read Tata Macgraw Hill GS manual for science section.
Sir iam new to this exam.I have certain queries regarding the future prospects of these services.iam 3 timer in ias mains, three in uppsc, appeared 2 times in hppsc and now working in a bank as an officer.however iam relenting pursuing civils for quite number of years.I believe that one should stop not till he/she gets the goal.now that iam crossed my age in gen cat it now seems distant dream for me,which has really teared me apart.I seek ur genuine advice on how to go from this root in realising my dream or this allied services is somewhat different,as to be practical it is not worthy (from financial point of view,as I have a family to support). as a friend ur advice and suggestions will really help me sir.thanks gaurav
ReplyDeleteU are right one should not stop working harder for achieving desired Goals, Sometimes life and destiny also tests the patience, but one must continue with same enthusiasm. Being Civil Servant is not the end of your journey, you are supposed to set greater Goals in life... The main thing in life is to do good work and there are plenty of ways to contribute. If you really had a dream to be Great officer then you can work hard and apply for these posts, In these posts some are on regular basis while some are on contractual basis. You ca apply and fulfill your dream, prospect of the job is really good.
DeleteThanks khadubhai for ur concerned advice.I will move with double enthusiasm.friends like u is what makes the journey so enjoyable and reachable. Thanks once again.

ReplyDeleteYou can Buy it form Local Book Stores in major towns or cities of HP. Easily available in Shimla.
DeleteDear Friend, You can purchase "Himachal Darpan book" at http://www.shunyafoundation.com/
DeleteSir tell whether allied main examination subjective or objective
ReplyDeletePls tell about Exam pattern for Allied Mains Exam
ReplyDeletehp allied will be of subjective so be ready like hpas mains gs paper.mains date will be decided after 15 february .......tentative in march.......
ReplyDeleteI don't know why people are creating chaos by speculating the Mains of Allied Services Exam. Whether it is subjective or objective it does not matter, still you have to prepare, for objective you have to study and for subjective too. only difference will be that you have to write answers in subjective inn given word limits, if words limits will not be given then you have to apply common sense that how much to write for how many marks depending upon the time and total no of questions available. So there is no need to panic about it, it will not be writing skill test it will be test of GK through your answers and you have to answer point to point without writing "Gappe" or irrelevant things. Hindi, English papers will also play decisive role so don't ignore them too. Overall Subjective Papers will not be that bad you just have to write to the point in a decent word limits with less grammatical mistakes and good content.
DeleteSir expected allied mains exam date???

ReplyDeleteHi I have faced Allied Interview and successfully cleared in 2016.The questions are based on your DAF and the place you belong to.
DeleteSince I belong to Sirmaur I was asked about Dr YS parmar ,topic of his PHD thesis , polygamy or polyandry in Sirmaur ,does it still exist,The tourism policy if HP I.e. importance of responsible tourism (bcoz I worked for Himachal Tourism).
The members were very cordial.I was interviewed by the board of Sh.Pardeep Chauhan.I was also asked why despite of working in present job,you want to make a parallel move to a new department?

THere are a total of 3 panel members with a chairman and 2 members.
The interview is mainly DAF based and questions related to current affairs are asked.
I was asked about the demerits or merits of consumer forums .Have they been successfull in HP.If no,Y!

DeleteTopper had 316 marks in mains and 50 in interview, second topper was with 306 marks in mains ,third 299....
DeleteAnurag Sir ,in call letter HPPSC have asked for character certificate from Head of institution last attended or present employer. And one character cert from gazetted officer or semi govt org....what does both of these mean...can you pls tell.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone pls upload the current DAF and requirements for the current allied interview.
DeleteIssue one from your last attended institute from where you have completed your bachelor or masters etc..and other from your town or village(go to tehsildar..sdm or police station or to any gazetted officer from your area of residence, regarding issuance of certificate.
DeleteIt means a NOC from employer in case you are a government servant. The other character certificate is required from employer in case of a govt servant who has applied through proper channel.
DeleteIn case of other candidates they have to produce a character certificate which is printed on the DAF signed by a gazetted officer.

ReplyDeleteMy score in Allied 2016(Mains ) -309
ReplyDeleteInterview. -50
Total Marks. -359
Please share your marks.I am not satisfied with the marks I scored in personal interview. The interview was good and lasted for reasonably long time.
i completely agree with u coz the toppers of written exams got marks mainly in range of 40-50 in personnal interview and not got rank in final list.i was really feeling bad for those people who scored more than 300 but get 40 to 50 marks in personal interview.i also got 50 marks in personal interview althoght i replied atleast 70 percent of questions right.but prepare for next exam dont be sad and day will come when ur written marks will be so high that u will not require any interview marks to get top rank in final
DeleteMy score in Allied 2015
DeleteMains -297
Interview-55
Why am I posting these marks here is because last year I had a great interview and could score meagre 55.This year i dropped the idea of wearing a suit just because I thought it is good to wear simple clothes. So I went with a shirt and trousers (formal).
As destiny beckoned,I could score even lesser marks as compared to 2015 i.e.50 in so called personality test .My overall rank slipped from 11th in Mains to 31st in final list making me eligible for the post of election kanugo( which I didn't fill in as option as I am already placed better because of last year's selection in Allied Services Exam)
My concerns are
1) Does the commission have our Mains Marks ?
2)I am observing a trend wherein people who are in service are being given less marks in personality test by the HPPSC
3)The candidates with series 1,2,3 are scoring good marks in personality test (these codes means a lot).
4)My roll no. Code started from 8 in both interview and I scored modest marks in personality test .
I am not complaining but trying to assess the functioning of HPPSC .For me interview /personality test are absolutely discretionary and candidates should work hard in Mains for these exams. It is always better to leave things in your hands than in the hands of others
Thanks
bhai code 9(bilaspur) ka to aur bhi bura haal hai.
Deleteactually my spirit was very low coz i had great hope with allied services result which socked me terribly.but on seeing ur performance i can say that my problem is less than u.but anurag if u still thought about ur past result u can not perform in future.if as a friend i suggest u start preparing with full passion coz i m doing also same and only solution to get top rank is to acquire as much high marks as u can in ur mains...............and as per my information yes commission has also availability of merit list of qualified candidates in mains with marks.and about dress i think we should not be so conscious about our dress .i mean not very high profile dress require but should wear simple and sober clothes.i was also wearing simple kurti but i was very much confident about my knowledge.u can also check interview marks os has final interview there is huge variation of marks between 30 to 135 in that.and a person who is getting 30 it's difficult for him to fulfill gap of 80 marks with a person who is getting 120 or 130.but this is difficult to resolve this problem so just focus on ur goal
ReplyDeleteInterviews will be there for HPAS and class 2 posts. We are worried about that.
